Alex Davila has been an Emergency Doctor most of his career. He grew up in Whittier, California and went to Occidental College, majoring in Kinesiology. He then attended UCLA School of Medicine. He went across the country, to Pennsylvania, for residency training and returned to California and has been practicing in the Riverside County area since.
He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and has been a practicing Emergency Physician in the local community for 15 years. He lives locally and is married with three children. He found himself very interested in Hospice Care and its unique role in helping patients and families deal with one of the most difficult things they may face in life. At times the hospital and the emergency department are not the right place to stand with the patient and the patient’s family. The hospital setting can intrude on precious, valuable time near the end of life. Care and comfort are needed, but in a more personal setting. It is with these experiences and beliefs that he saw the purpose and usefulness of Hospice Care. Hospice can be real healing.
